The Universal Window and Door Projected Series windows are designed to move away, or “project” from the plane of the window frame (much like a door), and can be either in-swinging or out-swinging from the casement vents. Casement windows operate on a vertical axis while projected windows open and close horizontally (windows hinged at the top are referred to as awning windows, and ones hinged at the bottom are called hoppers). They may be opened and closed by hand or by use of a hand crank.

Projected/Casement windows are compression-sealed, easy to operate and are often combined with complementary fixed windows. Universal can provide stock or custom variations of our Projected/Casement window solutions in a variety of colors.
