SPECIFICATIONS General: Series 900 windows (Thermal Barrier Single-slide) are designed to meet or exceed AAMA performance requirements both thermally and structurally. This window carries a thermal rating, and the AAMA/NWWDA 101/I.S.2-97 structural rating of HS C-65. Finish: The standard finishes are acrylic white, black, bronze, green or beige, electrostatically applied and baked-on, with a 5-stage chromate undercoating. Other architect specified finishes may be available at an additional cost. Material: The aluminum used is of commercial quality 6063-T5 alloy, with a minimum ultimate tensile strength of 22,000 psi, free from defects impairing strength and durability. Series 900 windows feature standard wall tolerances as defined in the Architectural Aluminum Manufacturers Association Master Specifications for Aluminum Windows HS C-65. They utilize a urethane thermal barrier material as a separator in conjunction with rigid vinyl adaptors to complete the thermal barrier separation. Glazing: Operable sash glazing is a heavy, vinyl wrap-around “marine” type, and dead panel is tape/bead glazed to satisfy a good glazing condition between metal and glass. The primary glazing is for 7/8” double glazed to assure the best thermal barrier insulation. Spacer: Edgetech's Super Spacer® contains NO-Metal and is one of the most thermatically efficient IG spacers available today. Super Spacer® reduces sealant stress while improving heat flow resistance, glass surface temperature, condensation resistance and sound absorption. Super Spacer® is the only polymer foam, NO-Metal warm edge spacer. Weatherstripping: The weather seals provided are of wool or polypropylene pile with fin seal. Fin seal type weather seal is used in combination with bulb or rigid vinyl to achieve maximum weather tightness. Hardware: Inside rolling panels are equipped with spring type locks that strike side jambs for positive automatic locking. Optional “oversized” handles are available. The vent sash rolls on tandem stainless steel, self-lubricating bearings with bronze wheel, held in place by a three-position, rust-proof housing. Frame/Sash: Master frames and sashes have dual-screwed overlap joints. Master frame head, sill and jambs are designed to receive stacking condition by way of thermal break mullions. (Note: All metal-to-metal joints must be back sealed in the field if the windows are field mulled.) Master frame sill is of “Tank Sill” design for high water performance rating. Screens: The screen channel design in the Master frame allows the use of a half-screen. 18 x 16 fiberglass mesh is attached to the screen box frame by a spline lock in the screen channel. WARNING: Insect screens are intended to provide reasonable insect control, and are not intended to provide for the retention of objects or persons from the interior. |
